Advantage Scholarships
Awarded to local residents who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming significant life challenges.

“Thank you again for the scholarship. I’m a premed student at UC Berkeley. I used the scholarship money to help pay for my residential theme program. I’m housed with South Asian, Southwest Asian, and North African students; this program helps build cultural community. This kind of program was not available to me during high school. Next semester I’m on track for pre-med activities like shadowing and researching.”

“Dear Assistance League Members, Thank you for awarding me the scholarship. I’m working a part-time job and I just got my academic standing for the fall semester, with a 3.5 GPA. I was placed on the Presidents Honor Roll. The scholarship money was used to pay for school supplies, as my FAFSA [student aid] covered my classes and books. The remaining scholarship money went into a savings account to help pay for supplies in my academic career.”
