What Volunteers Do
Assistance League volunteers make a difference in countless ways. Depending on your interests, skills, and availability, you can:
- Help children shop for new school clothes through Operation School Bell®
- Mentor Assisteens® members planning service projects
- Sort, price, and stock items at thrift stores
- Assemble Assault Survivor Kits® for hospital partners
- Run weekend backpack programs for children experiencing food insecurity
- Bring expertise in marketing, finance, technology, or grant writing to chapters virtually
Volunteer With a Local Chapter
Best for: People who want to roll up their sleeves alongside neighbors.
Members commit time, attend chapter meetings, and choose programs that connect with their interests and skills. Most chapter volunteers are also members who build lasting friendships while serving their communities.
National Volunteer
Best for: Professionals with specialized skills, retirees with limited mobility, people in communities without a local chapter, and anyone who wants to give back on their own schedule.
