More than Shopping – It’s Confidence, Dignity, and Smiles

DREAMCATCHERS participates in Operation School Bell, a signature program of the National Assistance League® that provides brand-new, school-appropriate clothing, shoes, and hygiene items to economically disadvantaged students throughout Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Westminster. Our auxiliary members proudly help fund this important program and volunteer alongside chapter members at local Target and Walmart stores to assist students and their families as they shop for essential back-to-school items.

A Fresh Start When It’s Needed Most

Operation New Beginnings is a program that provides support in three important areas. Scholarships are awarded to graduating police cadets from the Golden West College Regional Criminal Justice Training Center. Scholarships are also provided to veterans who are full-time students at either Golden West College (GWC) or Coastline College (CCC) in Fountain Valley and who demonstrate financial need to help cover the costs of tuition, books, and supplies. In addition, Operation New Beginnings budgets for and provides groceries to the Veteran Resource Centers (VRC) at both Coastline College and Golden West College. DREAMCATCHERS proudly serve on the committee alongside chapter members to help provide the funding needed for this worthwhile program and to support these deserving individuals as they pursue their educational and career goals.

Creating Moments of Comfort and Connection

The Alzheimer’s Family Center of Huntington Beach provides specialized adult day care and memory care programs for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The center offers therapeutic activities, nursing oversight, socialization, nutritious meals, transportation assistance, and caregiver support services, while also giving families much-needed respite and guidance in a safe, compassionate environment. DREAMCATCHERS has proudly supported the center by providing a variety of items to help meet the needs of its patients and staff, including parallel bars, blanket warmers, shower equipment, furniture, and craft and activity supplies that enhance patient care and daily programming.

Enhancing Care Through Compassion

The Silver Anchor Outpatient Program at Huntington Beach Hospital provides structured outpatient support for individuals needing mental health and recovery services. The program offers therapeutic care, counseling, education, and support in a safe and compassionate setting designed to help patients build coping skills, maintain stability, and improve overall well-being without requiring inpatient hospitalization.  DREAMCATCHERS provides the program and the program’s patients with many essentials, including personal hygiene items, a variety of gift cards, clothing, technology including large screen TVs, as well as materials and supplies to enhance the day program. 

Helping Seniors Thrive

Support Our Seniors addresses the needs of financially disadvantaged, homebound, and at-risk older adults by enhancing their quality of life and promoting successful aging. DREAMCATCHERS works closely with Care Managers at the Senior Centers in Central Park of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Westminster to develop programs tailored to the unique needs of each center and the seniors they serve.

• Support Our Seniors Huntington Beach assists the Senior Center in Central Park HB by providing grocery gift cards, bus passes, and thoughtful gift bags that help seniors maintain dignity, independence, and connection to their community. When a need arises, additional assistance is provided, including the installation of grab bars in the homes of some seniors to improve safety and independence, as well as the purchase of essential items such as sheets and towels. Certificates for house cleaning services are also given.
• Support Our Seniors Westminster is unique. DREAMCATCHERS serve two hot breakfasts a month with food prepared by the center. A cold breakfast is served the other two weeks of the month. All breakfasts are funded through gift cards purchased by DREAMCATCHERS. Twice a year, holiday gift bags are given to the center’s homebound seniors. DREAMCATCHERS also provides additional support items such as arts and crafts supplies, a ping pong table, and dinner prior to movie night activities.
• Support Our Seniors Fountain Valley: DREAMCATCHERS provides two successful programs to the center. Timeless Melodies features classic songs along with the history and stories behind the music, creating an experience for the seniors. The Movie Talks program screens classic films followed by engaging group discussions. Together, these provide vital social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and meaningful opportunities for residents to remain active and connected, and in their community. Additionally, when a need arises, gift cards are provided for needy seniors.

Giving the Gift of Confidence and Connection

The Therapeutic Riding Center empowers individuals with physical and developmental challenges to discover their greatest strengths while gaining self-confidence and self-reliance through the special bond between rider and horse. This life-changing therapy builds strength, confidence, independence, and connection. DREAMCATCHERS provides scholarships for students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford this valuable therapy due to financial hardship.
