Comfort Kits for Kids

Providing comfort and dignity in times of crisis

Comfort Kits for Kids in Foster Care is our philanthropic program that provides comfort to children ages 3-17 entering/moving about in the foster care system administered by the Child Abuse Prevention Council.

The kits/backpacks are filled with comfort, educational, entertainment and hygiene items for boys and girls divided into three age groups. Each committee member is assigned a specific gender and age group and is given a list of specific items to be included for each category. The members then prepare 72 kits/backpacks three times a year to be picked up by the Child Abuse Prevention Council.

“I remember receiving a Comfort Kit … I’ve never been so happy to receive all of the things inside the backpack which was filled with new socks, new bath towel, shampoo, soap, lunch box, water bottle, hygiene items and especially a stuffed animal … To the people who are providing these kits – thank you – it helps a lot. Thank you.”
