For more than 53 years, the Assistance League of Stockton, a 501(c)3, has proudly served the Stockton community and is often described as one of San Joaquin County’s best-kept secrets. We are a legacy of service, a pillar of the community, and a testament to what compassionate and dedicated volunteers can accomplish together.
Dedicated to improving children’s and families’ lives through impactful, community-based support.
A community where every child’s essential needs are met and families have the opportunity to thrive.
We uphold honesty, transparency, and responsibility in all we do. We serve with compassion and dedication, putting the needs of families first. We treat everyone with dignity and fairness, building trust in every action. We listen with understanding, act with kindness, and support others where they are.
We support a variety of philanthropic programs with various objectives. Our flagship program, Operation School Bell®, provides clothing to children in need. Our critical Book Buddies program gives literacy support for local students in grades K-3rd and our Comfort Kits program provides essentials for children in crisis or foster care. We also provide financial scholarships to students who are pursuing a higher education at Delta Community College.
Through strategic planning, strong volunteer commitment, and careful stewardship of our resources, we have expanded our reach while preserving the quality, dignity, and personal care each child receives.
Our programs are primarily funded through proceeds from our thrift shop on East Harding Way in Stockton. We are also deeply grateful for grant opportunities and the generosity of individual donors and community partners. Their support allows us to continue providing these vital services and respond to the increasing needs of our community. By remaining entirely volunteer-driven, we are able to maximize our resources and direct them toward the individuals and families who need them most.
The Assistance League of Stockton is more than an organization. It is a legacy of service, a pillar of the community, and a testament to what compassionate and dedicated volunteers can accomplish together.
