Even the most determined college students can find their dreams threatened by financial barriers – especially in Seattle, where the cost of living can put higher education out of reach.
The Financial Aid for Education (FAFE) program provides aid in removing those barriers. By providing $1,500 each quarter directly to students, the program helps cover essential expenses such as books, housing, and transportation.
Open to King County residents attending community colleges or technical schools, FAFE keeps its GPA requirement at 2.5 to ensure students facing real-life challenges still have the opportunity to succeed. Applicants are selected based on both merit and financial need.
Our community partners play a critical role in identifying students who need our support to complete their degree. Partnerships with TRiO at Seattle Public Colleges and Seattle Education Access provided a stream of eligible, motivated students in need of support, with a focus on students with one or two quarters left to finish their degree.
