Assisteens use child-sized puppets to deliver lessons on a range of subjects such as Ability Awareness, dental hygiene, bullying and kindness to local children. The Assisteens and Adult members regularly participate in the Balboa Island Parade in June and the Festival of Children at South Coast Plaza in September. ALNM Adult Volunteers visit classrooms at Elementary Schools discussing Ability Awareness and reading books to students. Assisteens participate in craft and puppet shows for Girls, Inc. that are held at the Melinda Hoag Center for Healthy Living.
