On June 13, 2026, Assistance League® of Newport-Mesa celebrated a record-breaking milestone by awarding more than $118,000 in scholarships—the largest amount in our organization’s history.
These scholarships will support 2026 first-year and 2025 second-year college students as they pursue their higher education goals, helping them take the next step toward a bright future.
Good Vibrations Filled Balboa Island!
The 31st Annual Balboa Island Parade brought excitement, music, and community spirit to the Island on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Celebrating the theme “Good Vibrations on Balboa Island,” the parade featured an impressive lineup of marching bands—including the United States Marine Band and the USC Trojan Marching Band—along with colorful floats, classic cars, equestrian groups, and the ever-entertaining Lawn Chair Drill Team.
Adding to the fun were members of the Assistance League® of Newport-Mesa and the Assisteens® Auxiliary, proudly representing our organization and sharing their enthusiasm with parade spectators. It was a wonderful day of community celebration, lasting memories, and plenty of good vibrations!
Fourteen Assisteens® members came together for the first Broken Toy Work Party on Saturday, February 28th. From simple tasks of cleaning battery corrosion off the conductive metal terminals to the more complicated undertaking of 3D-printing new parts, these Assisteens worked hard to give toys a second chance at bringing joy to children and raise money for ALNM philanthropic programs.
