Busy Hands became the Fresno chapter’s fifth philanthropic program in 2013. The program takes its name from a group of local seniors who create handmade items that are donated to Community Cancer Institude in Clovis, the Pregnancy Care Center, and Valley Teen Ranch. Assistance League supports this effort by providing the necessary materials, allowing participants to focus on what they enjoy most—creating.
What makes Busy Hands especially meaningful is its dual impact. For the seniors who craft the items, the program offers a sense of purpose and the opportunity to contribute to their community while doing something they love. For those who receive the items, it provides thoughtfully made, handcrafted gifts created with care and compassion.
To date, the Busy Hands program has produced and distributed more than 4,000 handmade items to these three partner organizations.
