Freshworks, a customer service software company, recently held a backpack drive to support students in ALD Schools. Employees donated new backpacks filled with school supplies, along with additional supplies. The drive was inspired by one employee’s experience as a customer at our Thrift Shop. We’re grateful to the Freshworks Denver team for helping local students start the school year ready to learn.

We’re excited to welcome a number of new volunteers to Assistance League of Denver this summer. Two of the newest members of our regular Wednesday Thrift Shop processing team are Mia Peterson and Miss Colorado Alexis Amesquita-Denham. 

Mia discovered ALD through a volunteer opportunity posted on Idealist.org, while Alexis selected ALD as one of her official charities after being crowned 2026 National American Miss Colorado last month.

Their enthusiasm, positivity, and willingness to serve have already made a wonderful impression on our volunteer team. We’re grateful to have them involved and hope they’ll inspire more young people in our community to join us in making a difference.

A big thank you to Sprouts Farmers Market on Mississippi Avenue for generously donating beautiful plants to be sold in the Assistance League of Denver Thrift Shop! 

Special thanks to Stephen, Produce Manager at Sprouts, for his ongoing commitment to supporting Assistance League of Denver. Through continued plant donations, Stephen and the Sprouts team are helping fund our philanthropic programs that benefit low-income students and seniors in our community.  We’re grateful for partners like Sprouts who help us make a difference!

Westword Best of Denver 2026 Reader’s Choice results are in and Assistance League of Denver Thrift Shop won “Best Ma and Pa Thrift Store!” Over half a million votes were cast this year and we’re thrilled Assistance League of Denver is among the winners.

Denver Insider named Assistance League of Denver Thrift Shop as one of its 2026 Expert Picks noting affordable prices, friendly staff, great selection, and easy donation process as highlights.

Fodor’s Travel recently named Assistance League of Denver’s Thrift Shop one of the “9 Best Thrift Stores in America.” The article touts that the shop is volunteer-supported, performs local charitable activities, and is friendly, well-stocked, clean, and bargain-priced. We are so proud of all our Thrift Shop volunteers for helping us earn this honor!

Assistance League of Denver Thrift Shop was one of seven great thrift stores in the Denver metro area featured by Out There Colorado. Competition for this honor was stiff because the article also noted the Mile High City is one of the best cities in the country for bargain shopping because it has the “fourth-highest number of vintage and thrift stores per capita, at 34.47 per 100,000 people.”

Assistance League Denver Thrift Shop was featured as one of the Ten Best Thrift Stores in Denver by Westword, a digital journal. It was deemed “as one of the best and friendliest thrift stores in the Denver area.” Stop by and see our new expanded floor space!
