Tender Loving Care

Tender Loving Care is one of nine philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Albuquerque. We make and distribute items that provide warmth and comfort to six nonprofit agencies.

Each month, the committee for the Tender Loving Care program is dedicated to making and providing flannel receiving blankets and knitted hats and blankets to UNM Hospital (UNMH), and fleece blankets to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (ABQSANE) Program, and to children and adults receiving treatment at UNMH. We also promote parent-child interaction by coordinating and developing literacy totes with educational materials teachers and parents use for three classroom levels for Cuidando Los Niños.

In 2025, the program Committee started the Milagro Project and began making coordinating tote bags, bibs, burp cloths, and blankets for pregnant women recovering from addiction in the Milagro Unit of UNMH.

Tender Loving Care recently received a Plaque of Appreciation from UNMH Someone Cares Program. The program has grown substantially over the last few years and we encourage anyone who likes to sew, knit, crochet, and/or piece quilts to contact us and explore what we do.
