2025-2026 End of Year Stats for Caring Hands

2025-2026 End of Year Stats for Caring Hands

Throughout the year, ALSJ members knit and crochet blankets that are given to hospitals for newborns, to Parisi House for their moms and babies, to a homeless shelter for warmth and to care facilities for comfort.

Caring Hands members seem to always have their yarn and crochet hooks or knitting needles tapping away working their magic for those the that need some extra TLC in their lives. The recipients of these wonderful blankets are so appreciative…

“I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the beautiful blanket we received at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The blanket came with beautiful baby booties and attached was a little note saying it was made by a member of your organization. I love this blanket and will forever be grateful. We were not expecting such a beautiful gift so when we received it, it made our day! God Bless your organization and every single one of your members that give their time in making such beautiful gifts!!!!!”

Operation School Bell® Warehouse Delivery of Uniforms

Operation School Bell® Warehouse Delivery of Uniforms

Do you know why school uniforms are so important?

They help create a level playing field among students and reduce peer pressure. Education then becomes the focus over clothes!!

A BIG thank you to our members and their families who helped move and organize boxes of delivered uniforms from pallets and into our warehouse. We now organize and bag all the uniforms and deliver them to each school.

Christmas in July

Christmas in July

AL of San Jose members had a delightful time filled with laughter and conversation while crafting holiday trees! These imaginative creations will be displayed at a December Holiday Activity in collaboration with Family Supportive Housing.

Both children and adults will have a great time selecting their favorite tree to enhance their holiday decorations!

If you love doing Arts & Crafts and spreading joy, join us!

2025-2026 End of Year Stats for Hug-a-Bear

2025-2026 End of Year Stats for Hug-a-Bear

Our chapter provides cuddly bears to community agencies to share with children in need of a little love and TLC. We even love cuddling our ALSJ t-shirted bears!

“I know first hand the positive effect your Hug-a-Bear program has on children, but I also noticed the morale boost the officers felt simply knowing your organization cares for them too. Easing the pain of a child during a call for service is a win/win for everyone involved.”
Lieutenant Mike E. Sullivan, Bureau of Field Operations, Southern Div., San Jose Police Department

Wear it on Wednesday

We encourage our members to wear Assistance League tops on Wednesdays to showcase our chapter in the community. We “Wear it On Wednesday” so our neighbors will ask us about Assistance League.

If you see any of our AL fashionistas, please stop and ask all about our wonderful non-profit chapter. You’ll learn about what our volunteers provide in our San Jose communities in need.
