Greater San Diego

Community Support

The Community Support Program plays a vital role in supporting a wide range of organizations that assist individuals and families in need throughout our community.

Through partnerships with local shelters, resource centers, and support programs, Assistance League of Greater San Diego is able to provide essential resources and support that meet immediate needs, promote recovery, and help individuals and families rebuild their lives.

The Community Support Program (CSP) now assists twenty nonprofit organizations that provide vital services to vulnerable populations, including:

  • Housing insecure individuals and families
  • Victims of domestic violence
  • Foster youth
  • Family resource centers
  • Refugee families
  • Families in need of emergency assistance

The program aims to support these organizations by providing essential goods and services to individuals and families in need. Funding comes from our Thrift Shop at University and First streets, as well as from grants and donations.

Our Community Support Program works with twenty organizations by providing essential resources, whether it’s food, clothing, personal care items or household items, to those in need. These efforts ensure that individuals and families facing hardship can feel dignified and supported as they work toward recovery and a brighter future.
