Operation Literacy supports community agencies with new and gently used books to promote literacy for their clients. The committee collects books from Assistance League of Omaha members and eight community partners in Omaha. Books are given to homeless shelters, abuse shelters, and youth programs in the community. Books are also given to our Operation School Bell® and Operation Teen Parent programs.

Additionally, Operation Literacy provides books to the Nebraska Humane Society so youth attending their summer programs can read to the animals at the shelter. The kids keep the books and continue their reading journey.
