As a member of Assisteens, you will develop a strong sense of community responsibility and self-reliance as you work with your group to help others. Goals of participation are to develop personal responsibility, public speaking and leadership skills.

Assisteens Working Together to Support the Community

Supporting At Risk Youth In The community

Assisteens work together developing projects for those in need in the community. Each month a different project is done at the meeting. Birthday boxes were made for those in Safe Passage Youth Foundation which helps at risk youth in communities where there are gangs.

Monthly Meetings

The teens meet monthly August through April except for the month of December at an evening meeting on a Monday. The meetings are a time to work together, learn about opportunities to help, and develop fundraising campaigns to support the Auxiliary’s programs and projects.

Caring About Seniors In The Community

Assisteens come together to make Valentine cards for those living in a senior living home to express caring and kindness.

Assisteens Support the Conejo Valley Chapter’s Thrift Shop

Working at the busy and fun Thrift Shop

The Assisteens work in pairs at Assistance League of Conejo Valley Thrift Shop, the chapter’s largest source of fundraising. Assisteens must work two shifts during the year and many Assisteens end up working more because you get to work with others, it’s fun, and you earn three (3) volunteer hours for working a shift.

Assisteens Governing Body

2026 – 2027

The Governing Body leads the Assisteens Auxiliary and is elected to their position with the exception of the Parliamentarian who is appointed by the Auxiliary Chair. Their term is from June 1 to May 31 for the fiscal year.

What it takes

Here is the scoop on becoming an Assisteens member

Assisteens is an auxiliary of the chapter for students in 8th through 12th grade

You may join as an 8th through 11th grade student

New member dues are $55 (which includes Assisteens dues of $30 + $25 for Logo Polo shirt required for all Assisteens)

Assisteens have monthly meetings on Monday evenings (August through April – no meeting in December)

It is important to attend all eight (8) meetings as part of your volunteer participation (excused absence only)

Assisteens have an annual volunteer commitment of at least 35 hours per year

Assisteens are expected to participate in scheduled fundraisers

Assisteens support the chapter by working two (2) Thrift Shop shifts per year

Assisteens participate in philanthropic programs for the auxiliary and the chapter

Assisteens have an opportunity to meet teens from other surrounding middle and high schools both public and private

When joining, both student and parent/guardian must sign consent forms
