Assistance League of Irvine has several programs to benefit the community of Irvine. We work with local schools and colleges to provide services, grants and scholarships for Irvine residents.
Our Operation School Bell philanthropic program began in Irvine in 1990. We provide new school clothes to kids in need. For some children, this will be the first time they have ever had a new shirt, or a warm sweatshirt of their own. For the first time, they truly feel like they fit in with all the other kids.
Assistance League of Irvine awards scholarships to income-qualified high school students planning to attend Irvine Valley College.
One (1) graduating senior from each of the Irvine Unified School District High Schools planning to attend Irvine Valley College will be awarded a minimum $1,000 scholarship. Additional scholarships will be awarded to qualifying graduating Irvine Unified School District seniors planning to attend Irvine Valley College, without respect to high school of attendance, as funds are available.
Assistance League of Irvine has established scholarships to Irvine Valley College using proceeds from Assistance League of Irvine’s Thrift & Gift Shop income together with a $10,000 endowment called Assistance League of Irvine Scholarship Endowment.

Our Family Emergency Support program assists victims of domestic abuse who find themselves at the Human Options shelter with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing. Household items and other goods are also provided when families transition out of the shelter into independent living arrangements.

If corrective lenses are prescribed, a student can select his or her frame of choice from a wide variety of contemporary styles. Typically within 10 working days, a student’s family is notified that the glasses are ready for a final fitting and pick up.
