About Us
Assistance League of the Eastside
In Uplifting Others, We All Rise
Assistance League of the Eastside strives to serve the immediate, unmet needs of children and adults challenged by hardship or violence, strengthening our community while fostering dignity, confidence, and hope.
Join compassionate volunteers helping children, families, and survivors of violence across our community.
For more than 35 years, Assistance League® of the Eastside has brought compassion, dignity, and practical support to children, families, and individuals across our community. Founded in 1989 as an auxiliary of Seattle and established as an independent chapter of National Assistance League® in 1997.
We are a volunteer member-driven nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through community programs that meet real local needs.
Across the Eastside, our volunteers help students, survivors, and families rebuild with confidence, support, and hope.
We believe strong communities are built through kindness, service, and connection. Together, we are creating brighter futures — one neighbor, one family, and one child at a time.
What We Believe
Assistance League of the Eastside strives to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that ensures every person belongs, is respected, and valued as themselves.
Students
Every child deserves dignity, confidence, and the opportunity to succeed.
New school clothing, food, books, medicines and school supplies help contribute to a child’s self-esteem and successful school experience.
Community
Compassion and community can change lives.
When essential needs are met in the community, families will flourish.
Members
Local volunteers create lasting impact.
Meaningful volunteer experiences create lasting impact for both those who serve and those who receive support.
Kindess
Small acts of kindness build stronger communities.
Receiving clothing and care items after an assault can help provide survivors with immediate comfort and help restore dignity.
Inclusion
Everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.
Everyone deserves to live in an environment where they feel safe from harm, free from oppression, and empowered to reach their full potential.
